Knit Scarf- Gallop in Black
Regular price $105.00 Sale price $84.00Â
This reversible scarf blends two inspirations; the artist Bridget Riley, a pioneer of the 1960s op-art movement, and historical handloom double-weave fabrics. Like Riley’s work this scarf uses repetitive black and white shapes to create an optical effect.
And like the historical double weave fabrics, this knitted scarf is “two-faced”, the colors inverting to create a light and dark side. You can read more about history about two-faced fabric on the blog.

Knit Scarf- Jitterbug in Grey
Regular price $105.00 Sale price $84.00Â
Our collection takes inspiration from historic Appalachian coverlet patterns. These masterpieces were widely produced in family homes from the 1700s through the early 20th century. Particularly relevant is the work of Francis L. Goodrich, who recorded hand-drawn weaving drafts for the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild. Her work helped preserve Appalachian craft as it faced competition from commercial production. Â
