This sheer kerchief feels lighter than air. An effortless adornment that can be dressed up or down. Leheriya is a traditional tie-dye technique from Rajasthan, India. The term leheriya comes from the Rajasthani word for wave. I bought these fabrics directly from a master artisan whose family has been practicing the tradition for four generations.
The term 'kota' refers to the hand-weave pattern where the woven yarns are spaced and compacted to make a fine check pattern. Zoom in to see what I mean.
These items are in 'as-is' condition and are final sale. Due to a small miscommunication, the hems were not sewn in the high-end rolled hem technique that would be appropriate for this lightweight fabric. However, I couldn't bear to let these sit on the shelf as the fabric itself is so magical and tied to such a beautiful tradition. They are priced to reflect these imperfections.
