Chainstich Embroidery in collaboration with Die Trying of Austin, Texas.

Paisley-Danna is screen printed by hand with a pattern inspired by historic Russian and Indian embroidered textiles lending more intricate details to the classic bandana paisley. Naturally dyed with indigo and harda tree wood (terminalia chebula), which is also used in skincare and wellness products.

- 100% Silk Noil
- Natural Dyes
- Bandana Made in India, Embellished in USA
- Appx 19” x 20”
- Enclosed Toptstitch Hem on 3 sides.
- Bandanas have a classic 1 selvage detail. We use the full width of fabric to reduce waste.

Note: Color may vary across dyelots. Variation in dye color, print, and sewing is testament to the handmade process.

Hand wash or gentle cycle with cold water using a mild pH-neutral detergent to preserve color. Wash with like colors and use a mesh bag to protect embroidery details

Tumble dry low. You can further soften your bandanna with a dryer sheet or ball.

Master artisans dye our silk bandanas providing the maximum color fastness possible. However, all naturally dyed fabrics will inevitably fade with washing and time. Sweat and skin oils may shift color as well. We call this “Beausage” (Beauty+Usage).

ABOUT THIS COLLAB

We've been collaborating with Lacy of Die Trying since 2018 on our chain-stitch embroidered bandanas.  Once or twice a year we send a bundle of bandanas down to Texas for her to embellish with her antique chain stitch machine.

Each DieTrying TX piece is created using the same hand operated vintage chainstitch machines that were used to create traditional western wear. While most embroidery today is computerized and mass produced, the work done on these vintage machines is hand done and made one piece at a time. Chainstitch embroidery machines started being manufactured around 1911. Lacy uses a handle below the machine to steer and essentially draw with stitches.
