This silk-cotton kerchief with wavy dye pattern is an effortless adornment that can be dressed up or down. Leheriya is a traditional tie-dye technique from Rajasthan, India. The term leheriya comes from the Rajasthani word for wave. I bought these fabrics directly from a master artisan whose family has been practicing the tradition for four generations.
Chanderi is a famous fabric that blends cotton and silk for elegant and subtle sheen. The fabric is slightly sheer with a perky hand-feel giving it some body that holds it's shape nicely when knotted at your neck. The term Chanderi comes from the town in India where this fabric has been woven since the 13th century.
These items are in 'as-is' condition and are final sale. Due to a small miscommunication, the hems were not sewn in the high-end rolled hem technique that would be appropriate for this lightweight fabric. However, I couldn't bear to let these sit on the shelf as the fabric itself is so magical and tied to such a beautiful tradition. They are priced to reflect these imperfections.
