ABOUT THE ARTISANS

In a collaborative spirit WomenWeave has interpreted Last Chance Textiles's hand-drawn plaids into scarves since 2017.

WomenWeave is a registered Charitable Trust based in Maheshwar, India that has supported the role of women in hand-loom weaving since 2002. Their work focuses on making handloom a sustainable, dignified, income-earning, and life-improving activity. Many of the women have never woven before and WW therefore provides them with training and opportunities for progressive skills enhancement
in order to maximize their livelihood opportunities. Where women have acted as “shadow weavers”, supplementing male family member’s work, WomenWeave creates opportunities for them to gain more control over and be recognized for their labor, as well as enhance their skill-set.
