Cowboy Scarf - Olema in Beach Stripe

$89.00

Handwoven Square Scarf

Let Olema spark your imagination this season! This Handwoven Cowboy Scarf is for those who love color and texture. A blend of Khadi cotton and silk give the piece a subtle shimmer. This technicolor dream scarf showcases fascinating handwoven texture and a weaving technique from the tribal region of Dindori India. These scarves are woven in the homes of heritage weavers and each purchase helps supports the continuation of their craft and way of life.

This scarf can be worn loosely rolled on the diagonal and wrapped around the neck. We love folding it into a triangle, placing that at your chest and criss-crossing the tails behind your neck. The tails can hang loose in front or be tied into a knot.

LOVE THIS SCARF

I couldn’t be happier with the textile design, the quality, or the versatility of this scarf. It is 💯 my go-to accessory. I’ve used it for style, I’ve used it for sun protection, and I’ve used it to both keep myself warm AND cool. I’m a big fan. The bright colors and soft cotton are total winners.

Lovely material!

I own 4 cowboy scarves and love the quality textiles used to make them. I knocked off a few stars because I wish the size was more uniform. Each of my scarves fits a bit differently with two fitting/sitting a little better than the other two. Hoping for new colorways in 2024!

Hi Sara,

Thanks so much for your review and for collecting and loving our cowboy scarves! We are already working on some new colors for Fall 24. Here's some information in regards to sizing that you might find helpful with your next purchases.

1. There is a variation of a 1-3 inches that is unavoidable due to the handmade nature of the yarn and weaving. The handspun yarns shrinks (we pre-wash/shrink in our finishing process) unpredictably. There is also some variation due to different weavers handiwork. For example, we could give two weavers the exact same plan and dimensions but the results have some variation because everyone weaves a little differently on the loom. This is similar to gauge/tension with hand-knitting. The lack of precision is a trade-off with the lovely nature of handwoven fabrics.

2. Please note that we have roughly two distinct sizes in our handwoven cowboy scarves. Amboy and Lyle are 34-36' square. Bodie, Winslow, and Olema are 44'-48' square. So it may be you prefer one of these sizes over the other. I appreciate your feedback as it has given me some food for thought. Perhaps I need to think of a way to better distinguish these two size ranges on the website. Like 'large' and 'xtra-large'.

Thanks again,

Lindsey
